Mountain Fun Parks
Spend a day at one of the fabulous mountain fun parks, choose from Hexenwasser in Söll, Ellmi's Zauberwelt in Ellmau, or the KaiserWelt in Scheffau - great fun for children (and adults!).
The Wilder Kaiser range offers ideal conditions for cycling tours and mountain biking and everyone from beginner to experienced cyclists will find something to suit their needs with over 400km of mountain bike routes to choose from.
Tour de Tirol
(Yearly in October)
3 days, 73km - could you take on the Tour de Tirol? Don't worry you don't have to take part in all events, start off lightly with the 10km run or the half-marathon but the highlight of the weekend is definitely the Kaiser Marathon, 42km, starting here in Söll before heading to Scheffau and Ellmau, where the climb begins up to Hartkaiser (1555m) ending at Hohe Salve (1829m) - not for the faint hearted!
If you have a thirst for adventure why not try paragliding, climbing, canyoning, or the tree tops adventure 'Hornpark' in St Johann.
Relax at one of the stunning local bathing lakes choose from the breathtaking Hintersteinersee above Scheffau, the new Ahornsee in Söll where you can also try 'Blobbing' and, particularly good for children, Going's Badesee
Experience some traditional Tyrolean festivals and see the locals dressed up in their traditional Lederhosen and Dirndls. Summer events include the weekly Z'sammkemma and band concert in Söll, the Almabtrieb festival in September where cows are paraded through the village with magnificent head-dresses made from flowers and at the annual village festival you will find the beer flowing and a variety of local music to enjoy.
With great local bus and train connections it is easy to spend a day out in Munich, Salzburg, or Innsbruck. For something a little different visit the beautiful Rattenburg, famous for its glass production and Austria's smallest city, or spend a day in Berchtesgaden and visit Hitler's "Eagles Nest", take a trip to the amazing Eisreisenwelt, the largest ice caves in Europe or visit the impressive Neuschswanstein Castle, inspiration for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle.
Wilder Kaiser Tourist Board
The popular "Bergdoktor" (Mountain Doctor) television series has long been filmed at beautiful locations around the Wilder Kaiser region. During your stay you can visit the real landscapes and filming locations including the stunning Bergdoktorhaus in Söll. Keep a look out for the special Bergdoktor Weeks and Fan Days that take place throughout the summer months.
